Title for­mat­ting when writing

When using the fol­low­ing in arti­cles or cor­re­spon­dence, here are some gen­eral rules:

  • PAINTINGS, STATUES, DRAWINGS, ETC are italicized.
  • NAMES OF WORKS OF ANTIQUITY not usu­ally italicized.
  • PHOTO TITLES: use quotations.
  • CARTOON TITLES: if they are reg­u­larly appear­ing, are italicized.
  • TITLES OF FAIRS/EXHIBITIONS not italicized.
  • CATALOG TITLES are italicized.
  • OPERAS, ORATORIOS, TONE POEMS, ETC. are italicized.
  • TITLES OF MOVIES/TV/RADIO PROGRAMS ital­i­cized. Single episode use quotations.
  • POEM TITLES most use quo­ta­tions. A very long poetic work is ital­i­cized & no quotes used.
  • SONG TITLES use quo­ta­tions, as with poems
